ABOUT US
WHAT IS ADPD ?
ADPD is Action of development for Hopeless People. It is a non government organization of development and defense of human rights. Registered law No004 of July 20th,2001. concerning the non profit organization in Congo/Kinshasa, and having its own status and interior rules order officialized and recognized by the justice minister under the certificate No 023/Just/-Dh/DP-NK/2006 and by the minister of social affairs through the certificate No 08/DIVAS/n-K/AS/056/2006.
we are working to the local and national level in order to promote the respect of human rights in our country. we are in charge of local and national problems but we are collaborating with regional and international cluster ready to empower us, and improving the human rights situation.

BACKGROUND AND MISSION
A. BACKGROUND
In 2004, December 12th, in Goma town situated in the North Kivu Province, Eastern part of the DRC, a group of 11 people including the technicians in development, lawyers, sociologists, economists and managers gathered to diagnostic the socio-security status and humanitarian of people of the East DRC.
it was observed that people living in the East DRC are frustrated by the civilian ,ethnical , rebels and military conflicts. this situation of war and general instabilities, the country its self was challenged in every corner. As many humanitarians came to help in different areas of crisis such as rehabilitations, reconstruction and the human stability in participating in the community life in that part of the country.
In fact, the human rights violations in the East of DRC continue and increase the number of victims. Deeply concerned by this dishonor situation, it pleased, it was a must for us to implement an Non Profit Organization named Action pour le Developpement des Populations Defavorisees “ADPD”, concerning the law and action in our country that gathering all the Non Profit Organizations.
In that engagement, we target the promotion of the human rights, in order to reduce the suffering and the poverty of the hopeless communities, such as: Pygmies, vulnerable women and children, the older people, victims from the conflicts and other similar groups.
It’s in this term we are defining the hopeless people by specifying the concept “Development” can bring different meaning.
B.MISSION

1. PROMOTION AND DEFENSE OF HUMAN RIGHTS
We intervene in all kind of situation relating to the human right violation such as false arrest, torture, discrimination, sexual harassment, murder and kidnapping .
We make awareness on good governance and the participative governance in creating the participative local comities for the auto support and explain to people how to vote and why it is important to participate to the election process.
These are the activities we are organizing in this domain:
-Monitoring the areas of detention to identify the facts relating to the violence of prisoners’ rights
-Advocate in favor of rejected pygmies families in their respective rural areas without compensations.
-To escort judicially the victims of sexual violence
-Awareness on the fight against all the kind of discrimination towards the women and children
-Educate people on civic education, to the democracy and to the elections.
-Produce the theaters (Sketches) for mass education on the principal of peace and respect of human rights.
2.HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE TO THE VULNERABLE PEOPLE
We intervening in priority to the pygmies communities, abandoned older people, women and children.
It is important to mention that the pygmies constitute one of the groups the most vulnerable of Africa continent. In DRC their discriminated and their rights are often negligently by other socio classes and by themselves because they ignore their rights.
Concerning women and children, they constitute the majority of those who are the victims of violence and they are always the first targeted.
We have established the following activities:
- Social economic accompaniment to the victims of sexual violence
- The process to acquire the land in favor of pygmies communities
- Activities of auto taking in charge of the vulnerable people
- Emergency humanitarian activities
- Scholarship of pygmies children
- Distribution of school kits to orphans
- Assistance and reunification of street children
- Training of skills of hopeless people.
3 MANGEMENT IN CONFLICT RESOLUTION
We organize activities on the reconciliation of different groups inter communities living in post conflict zone. We make awareness on the pacific cohabitation and straighten the peace, and the families reconciliation and mediation of land conflicts.
4 SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
This program is complex because it has multi sectors, is constitute by 2 aspects:
- Management of environment, we are advocating the actions against the nature
destruction.
- Food security (agriculture, breeding and fishing)
These activities are organized in the aim of helping the victims of the human rights violation to integrate in the communities.

_ Humanitarian assistance to the vulnerable people.
_ Management and conflict resolution.
_ Sustainable development.

LA MARCHE CONTRE LE SIDA
INTRODUCTION
L’an 2008, le 9ème jour du mois de Mai, il s’est tenu une marche pacifique sur la lutte contre le VIH/SIDA dans les sites pygmées (MUGUNGA I et II, et BULENGO) et camps des déplacés de guerre, organisé par l’ONG ADPD « Action pour le Développement des Populations Défavorisées » qui est active dans ces sites.
Etant donné que les déplacés de guerre sont venus en masse s’installer juste à coté de ces trois sites cités ci - haut, il ne fallait pas que l’ADPD puisse croiser le bras.
C’est pourquoi elle est allée mener la sensibilisation sur la lutte contre le VIH/SIDA dans les sites pygmées et dans les camps de déplacées de guerre. Une maladie qui guète tout le monde.
DEROULEMENT PROPREMENT DIT DE LA MARCHE
La marche a commencé à 8heure 30, heure locale. Le point de départ était le site BULENGO , juste après une assemblée générale de tous les pygmées et déplacés de guerre dont les points essentiels ont porté sur :
- Les différentes voies de transmission du VIH/SIDA ;
- Les moyens de prévention de cette maladie ;
- Les témoignages des femmes victimes de viol et d’autres violences ;
- Questions d’actualités sur le VIH/SIDA ;
- Présentation des théâtres et de la musique en rapport avec les enseignements sur VIH/SIDA ;
- Un cocktail après ces activités citées ci haut.
Après le site de BULENGO, la foule des pygmées et déplacés de guerre habillés en chapeaux blanc où était écrit « STOP SIDA » s’est dirigée vers le camps de déplacés de BUHIMBA où les policiers de garde de ce parc ont voulu contraindre notre marche, mais, avec l’explication du Coordonnateur de l’ONG ADPD, prouvant qu’il avait été autorisé d’organiser cette marche sur la lutte contre le VIH/SIDA, ces derniers se sont abstenus de disperser la foule.
Les activités de la marche à BUHIMBA étaient les mêmes que celles de site de BULENGO.
Seulement, juste à BUHIMBA nous avons rencontré une autre ONG locale ACODES qui était venu nous accueillir en guise de nous emboîter le pas dans cette marche pacifique.
C’était important d’effectuer cette marche pour sensibiliser ces pygmées sur la prévention du VIH/SIDA, maladies de tous sans exception, surtout que ces sites pygmées sont envahis par les déplacées de guerre provenant de différents milieux.
Les pygmées sont conscients de l’existence du SIDA mais sont ignorants en matière de protection contre cette pandémie. A partir de cette marche, les pygmées ainsi que les déplacées ont prit conscience de s’engager contre ce fléau.
Nous avons continué la marche jusqu’à MUGUNGA I et II , surtout que l’équipe venait d’être motivée par des déplacées de guerre de BUHIMBA en mouvement, où nous avons joué du théâtre et de la musique sur la sensibilisation du VIH/SIDA et tous les pygmées et déplacées de guerre présents venaient écouter le message qu’on transmettait.
Pour nous nous c’était une victoire que cette couche de la population conngolaise prenne aussi conscience du SIDA et que donc, à la prochaine, elle sera plus prudente.
Enfin, nous sommes arrivé à BULENGO qui était notre point de départ entrain de chanter et danser, une façon à nous de célébrer cette victoire.
En présence des Autorités locales et de certains responsables d’ONG locales, le Coordonnateur de l’ADPD a adressé ses vœux de bienvenu à tous les participants et a souligné la singularité des populations « pygmées » qui constitue malheureusement l’une des raisons de sa marginalisation.
Il a rappelé les conditions misérables dans lesquelles ils vivent, illustrées à travers la pauvreté, la malnutrition, l’habitat précaire, les mauvaises conditions d’hygiène, le manque de formation, l’ exclusion, le mépris et bien des préjugés.
Il a remercié les participants, notamment les populations pygmées, déplacées de guerre et l’ONG ACODES, pour avoir répondu favorablement à l’invitation de l’ADPD.
Il a ensuite donné les raisons majeurs qui ont amené l’ ADPD à entreprendre cette initiatives au profit des groupes marginalisées inapprochables en général « pygmées », ainsi que les populations en situation difficile « déplacées de guerre » .
Enfin, il a émis le vœu que cette marche pacifique conjointe pygmées et déplacées de guerre permette de déposer un diagnostic profond sur les aspect de la marginalisation des « pygmées ».
